One should be very careful in cooking sirloin tips. It can have a robust flavor and as the leanest part of the sirloin, can easily be overcooked. Sirloin tips should be cooked by dry heat methods. Try to trim external fat to prepare your sirloin steak for grilling, broiling or pan-broiling. When cooking, try to turn over the meat only once to ensure that you have for yourself a perfectly cooked steak.
During broiling, first pre-heat the broiling element where you will be cooking your sirloin tips. Then place the meat on the broiler pan about two to four inches above the heating source. You can cook it for about eight to ten minutes depending on the size of your sirloin.
