Techniques and Tips in Cooking with Beer

In many countries, beer is known merely as a drink. Believe it or not, this can also be used in cooking.

Do people pour beer over the food while it is being cooked? Of course not. This would burn the food and ignite a fire.

If people are able to make marinates using wine, why cant it be the same for beer? Here are a few tips and techniques that want to try experimenting.

Some people think it is crazy to mix beer on a salad or soup. This should only be done by using a few drops because too much can make it look watery and bitter. Should this happen, the person must immediately add some dried potato flakes or some potato starch flour that can emulsify the mixture to its original taste.

For the main dish, the individual can try beef brisket braised in beer. For this, the cook will need a kettle, some vegetables, flour, bacon, parsley and a chunk of brisket.

When all the ingredients are ready, the person can preheat the oven to 350 then put the bacon inside the kettle. To add flavoring, the cook can sprinkle some pepper and salt for flavoring. After a few minutes, the brisket can be added until this turns into a brownish color.

The chopped vegetables can then be added and when everything has turned into a golden color, this is when beer is added into the kettle. Butter can also be added to give it some more flavor, which will make the main course ready after 45 minutes.

If the people find it too bitter, unhopped barley malt extract, rice or maple syrup or pure cane sugar are some things that can be used to offset the taste.

Dinner cannot end without dessert and the best thing to use is unflavored gelatin. The pack should be opened and mixed with one an a half cup of beer. After a few minutes, a few tablespoons of water can be added to make it soft and not grainy.

This should be placed in a glass cup then frozen so that after dinner, this can be brought out chilled and ready to be served.

The most important thing to remember about beer is that it is a carbonated substance similar to soda that foams when this gets into contact with other ingredients. Before mixing it, this should be poured into a large bowl so that excess carbonation will no longer appear.

If the individual doesn’t have a large bowl, this will have to be gradually mixed with the other ingredients using a measuring cup so the dish will not use it flavor.

Beer can be bought in the supermarket or at the convenience store. Is there a particular brand that is the best to use? No, the important thing for the person to know is that this should be done with those that ideally come in light colors.

This will give it that light alcohol taste which is just right for everyone in the house to enjoy.

There are a lot of other recipes that can be used with beer. If the individual is unable to find any books about it, there is always the Internet. Those who are feeling adventurous can try substituting wine with this to add some spice to those taste buds.
