Cooking Tips for Fillet Mignon
Jeremy is an 8-year old kid who is always amazed with how things are made. The parents loved the child’s thirst for knowledge that the child was enrolled in subjects that were not yet being taught for someone at this age.
This toddler will always read books and ask about a certain topic if this wasn’t explained fully in class or on television. The only way to stop the inquiry will be if someone is able to provide a sufficient and logical answer.
One day while the family was dining at a steakhouse, this kid wondered why the dish that was ordered came out first while others did not arrive yet. Jeremy’s mom and dad just replied that kids in this establishment are always served first.
For someone at that age, this was already a good reason. But Jeremy wasn’t like that and so this person researching after getting home from the restaurant.
Fillet mignon is made up two things. The beef and the bacon that is usually placed around it. Since the restaurant doesn’t know how many plates to make per order, the chefs will only start work when someone requests for it.
The beef and bacon are brought out at the freezer for these to reach room temperature. Since this will take at least half an hour, this is warmed up in the microwave, which can be done in 4 minutes.
This is then brushed with oil to keep it juicy and flavorful. While one person is doing that, another chef is preparing the vegetables by chopping this into small pieces, which will become the side dish.
The oven, which was on since 10 in the morning, was ready. This saved the chef the time required to warm it up so after mixing the ingredients together, this was thrown in the pan and it started sizzling.
Another thing that gave the fillet mignon flavoring was the sauce. This is made from cut vegetables, cheese, salt, pepper, mustard and a little touch of brandy. This is heated until everything mixes together. Some is mixed as the beef and bacon are sizzling while the rest is saved for later.
A few minutes later, the chef would use a toothpick and tie the bacon around the beef. This is left there so it will not fall off which first timers and people find fascinating. After adding the side dish on the side, this is placed on a sizzling plate to be served to the guest.
The time it took to do everything was 10 minutes. Since Jeremy does not easily believe what is written, the kid also got the same ingredients at home and did it. Being able to do it 5 minutes later than what the chef did was already amazing.
At least Jeremy knew now that it wasn’t being a kid that made the order come out first rather it was simple to make compared to the other dishes that the other members in the family ordered.
Fillet mignon as mentioned is a very simple dish. Anyone can pick these items in the grocery and start doing it. There are other dishes that can be made which are simpler and more complicated than this. But if the person is hungry and wants a quick bite, then one dish that is exciting and fun to make is this.
